I'm on the hunt for a low-med gain MIAB OD and I've been looking at the Plexitone SC but not so sure now. The Carl Martin PlexiTone Lo-gain is an excellent sounding overdrive pedal with Plexi genes. In addition to the exemplary processing, it can come up with a dynamic overdrive, which is indeed in the low-gain range, but that doesn't mean that it can't rock properly! The Carl Martin PlexiTone, is as the name might indicate an unusual high gain three step rocket of an overdrive. The PlexiTone offers two step overdrive, the crunch channel and the high gain channel, on top of that it gives you an up to 20dB clean boost channel. But when you couple it with Carl Martin's time-proven PlexiTone distortion/overdrive, you've got a winning combo that begs you to get out on stage and rock.
